Our staff outdid themselves at our Easter baking competition last Thursday. It is an annual tradition at CM to have an Easter competition. Last year we made Easter masks but with so many talented bakers among us we went for a traditional baking showdown this year. There were 9 anonymous entries from the team that included caramel flapjacks, chocolate brownies, Mars bar cakes, rocky road style cornflake cakes, iced mini simnel cakes, chick shaped shortbread, a large chocolate sponge cake, chocolate orange cupcake nests and last but not least the magnificently decorated bunny cupcakes. They made for quite a spread!
After a long and considered judging session and with our sweet toothes maxed out, we decided on two separate winners. Stephanie Winteringham's chocolate orange nest cupcakes won on their scrumptious flavour and Lynn Clarke's unforgettable bunny cupcakes won on appearance. Both won an Extra Thick Easter Egg from Hotel Chocolat. Well done everyone, especially our winners!
